ADSEAL is a root canal sealer made of epoxy resin, and it comes in a dual-syringe format that uses a paste. It has remarkable chemical and physical properties, such as exceptionally good sealing property and biocompatibility, among other exemplary qualities.


Endodontic sealers are materials that produce a three-dimensional fluid-proof seal in the root canal system of a tooth. This creates an environment that is conducive to periapical healing and reduces the likelihood that the tooth will get reinfected.


An ideal endodontic sealer should have certain characteristic properties that are necessary for achieving the desired level of sealing in the root canal system. These properties include high radiopacity, flowability, sealing, biocompatibility, low solubility, a reliable working time, and adhesion to canal walls. The types of sealers that are now on the market include zinc-oxide eugenol sealers, sealers that include calcium hydroxide, sealers that are based on resin, sealers that are based on glass-ionomer, sealers that are based on silicone, and sealers that are based on bioceramics.

The ability of a sealer to stick to the dissimilar root canal dentinal surface and increase gutta-percha cone adherence to each other and to the dentinal wall is referred to as root canal sealer adhesion. Because the attachment principle behind substances involves mechanical interlocking forces rather than molecular attraction, Tagger et al. argued that the term adhesion should be replaced with bonding in the case of root canal sealers. This is due to the fact that the term "adhesion" has a negative connotation. In most microleakage and bond strength tests, the adhesion capability of the root canal filling material is taken into consideration. This is due to the fact that there is no universally accepted test for determining how well a sealer adheres to root dentin. The ability of a sealer to attach to dentin and filling material as well as its solubility are factors that influence its ability to seal.
